Four finish options, applied in the workshop before despatch. The finish arrives on the surface — not in a tin alongside it. Every surface leaves pre-finished to your specification.
Non-reflective. The most natural-looking finish — the wood reads as wood rather than a lacquered surface. Brings out the depth and character of the grain without visual weight. The most popular choice where a handmade, natural result is the intention.
Requires slightly more care in high-contact areas. Most suitable for surfaces used with some care rather than worked hard daily.
A slight, even sheen. The most commonly chosen finish across all of our surfaces. Balances the natural appearance of the wood with reflectivity that makes maintenance more straightforward than matt. Resists fingermarks better.
Works across all species and all applications. If in doubt, satin is the correct default.
High reflectivity. Dramatic in the right context — a gloss end grain island top or African Mahogany dining table produces a surface that reads as intentional and considered. Shows fingermarks more readily. Requires a very well-prepared surface.
Most often chosen for display surfaces and hospitality applications where visual impact is the priority.
Sanded to 150 grit with all edges profiled. Supplied ready for client-applied oil, wax, or varnish. The correct choice for clients who prefer to apply a specific finish product, or who want to re-oil the surface as a regular maintenance routine.
End grain surfaces supplied unvarnished benefit from liberal oiling at installation and regular oiling thereafter.
Finish applies to every surface
The same four finish options are available across all products — countertops, shelving, stair treads, table tops, and add-ons.
