Serving boards are built in face grain or edge grain construction. Face grain shows the most timber character — wide grain figures, any natural features of the species, and the warmth of the material at close range. Edge grain produces a cleaner, more linear surface that suits a more contemporary table setting.
Unlike end grain cutting boards, serving boards are not designed for heavy chopping — they are presentation surfaces. The finish is specified accordingly: a food-safe oil finish or a lightly sealed surface that can be re-oiled as needed.
Sizes and configurations
Standard cheeseboard sizes run from approximately 300×200mm to 500×300mm. Larger serving platters up to 800×350mm are available. Custom sizes to your specification are made to order. Handle cutouts, juice channels, and chamfered edges are all available options.
Matching the kitchen
A serving board in the same species as the kitchen countertop is one of the most requested combinations — it brings the material off the worksurface and onto the table, which creates a coherent material story through a kitchen. See species options →
Corporate and gifting orders
Serving boards and cheeseboards are regularly ordered as corporate gifts, housewarming presents, and wedding gifts. Custom dimensions, species combinations, and presentation packaging can be discussed for larger gifting orders.
